Underwater Photographers

Private guides, extended dives, a team that knows how to spot the camouflaged stuff.

  • Diver photographer with two strobes
  • Juvenile yellow boxfish
  • Diver photographing cuttlefish
  • Diver above turtle on sponge
  • Mandarinfish fish mating

If your dive trip is also a photo trip, we work differently. Smaller groups (often just you and the guide), longer bottom times, and divemasters who’ve spent years learning where the things hide.

Services

  • Private photo-guide. One-on-one dives, tailored to what you want to shoot — wide-angle reefscapes, macro critters, behavioural shots. We slow the dive down to your shutter speed.
  • Camera rental. Compact and mid-range underwater systems available. Great if your bag is already full or your housing flooded on the last trip.
  • Professional shoot services. Hire one of our photographer-trained instructors to document your dives, your course, or your underwater proposal. We deliver edited stills and short video.
  • SSI Digital Underwater Photography. A 2-day specialty course for divers who want to systematically improve their results.

Why our local sites work

The Gilis are macro-rich. The sandy slopes around Mirko’s Reef and the Meno wall hold pygmy seahorses, frogfish, ornate ghost pipefish and dozens of nudibranch species — the kind of subjects you’ll spend three dives finding elsewhere and three minutes finding here.

For wide-angle, the deep sites around Trawangan deliver schooling jacks, bumphead parrotfish at dawn, and the occasional whitetip in current.

Message us with the kit you’re bringing and what you’re hoping to shoot. We’ll suggest a 2-3 day rotation that gets the best out of it.
